NYSC DIRECTOR-GENERAL SEEKS SUPPORT FOR THE SCHEME



THE NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS, NYSC DIRECTOR-GENERAL SEEKS SUPPORT FOR THE SCHEME: The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has appealed to all stakeholders towards supporting the Scheme in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities. 

He said the provision and maintenance of Orientation Camps are obligations of State Governments. Kazaure stated this today during his Orientation Camp tour to NYSC Camp, Ise-Orun Emure-Ekiti. 

The NYSC boss, however, commended Ekiti State Government for assisting the Scheme in the State through logistic provisions.

While addressing Corps Members, Kazaure advised them to shun every form of sharp practices. 

He added that dignity of labour, strong determination and sincerity of purpose are essential qualities that would enhance their success in life. 

The Director-General also urged them to be security conscious, avoid unnecessary journey and imbibe good moral conduct in their places of primary assignments. 

Speaking further, General Kazaure appealed to the Corps Members to embrace Skills Acquisition and become job creators instead of seeking for unavailable salary jobs. 

The NYSC boss during the visit decorated newly promoted militarily personnel who were on official assignment in camp with their new ranks. 

While briefing the Director-General, NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Ukagha Ukano commended the State Government for augmenting the feeding of Corps Members and Camp Officials. 

She said that State Government had fulfilled the promise it made for the Scheme earlier this year. Ukano told the DG that a total of 2,376 Corps Members took the Oath of Allegiance during the swearing-in ceremony comprising of 1,202 males and 1,174 females. 

She said 161 Corps Members had been given permission to leave the Camp on health grounds.
