Note that once your parent turns on codes for Messenger Kids, you get a four-word code you can share with your friends. Your friends can use this code to request permission to chat with you in the app.

If a friend shares their Messenger Kids code with you, you can use it to find them in the app and add them as a contact.

How to find your code:
1. First open the Messenger Kids app.

2. Once you’re done with the above, tap your profile picture. Below your name, you’ll see a code. You can click it to copy the code, then share it with your friends. If you don’t see a code below your name, tap Ask to request one.

To use a friend’s code to add them as a contact:
1. Open the Messenger Kids app.
2. Scroll down and tap Add Family and Friends.
3. Tap Yes or No to confirm whether your parent is with you.
4. Type your friend’s code.
5. Tap Ask to Chat. Once your parent and your friend’s parent both approve the request, your friend will be added as a new contact for you in the app.
