By default, Facebook all too often makes photos and other material you post on the social network public, meaning anyone can see it. So your big challenge with sharing Facebook photos is making sure you limit who can see them.
Facebook revamped its privacy settings as a major redesign in 2011. The current privacy settings give Facebook users more granular control over who gets to see what, but they also are a bit more complicated and can be hard to decipher.
Any photo that you’re tagged in “belongs” to somebody else. Unless it’s a picture of you that you tagged yourself in.
How to Make Photos Private on Facebook
To make the photo you want to put on Facebook private, you can do the following;
1. Upload the photo and click friends or audience selector. Audience selector tool allows you to edit your settings the way you like.
2. From the drop-down menu, choose who you want to view your photo. If you want only your friends to see the photo you are about posting on Facebook you can choose friends from the option. Alternatively, if you want the photo to be visible to only you, you can choose the “only me” option.
Note that you can still edit the photos that you’ve published on Facebook beforehand. The procedure is not difficult and does not require one to be a tech-guru before it can be done. To see how to make the photos you posted on Facebook earlier private, check out our step-by-step guidelines below.
